Demon's Weapon
Kormak's Blade
347 years ago, the world of Tallua nearly fell.
A demon from beyond the Astral Veil tore open a gate between worlds, unleashing a force Tallua had never known — raw, invasive magic that warped the land itself.
Villages vanished in a single night.
Forests withered to husks.
Rivers ran black with ash.
The very laws of nature buckled beneath the weight of this foreign power.
Nothing could stand before its hunger.
From a small village in the east, Kormak the Enlightened rose to challenge the invader and its army of the corrupted.
He was the first mortal whose soul did not shatter when exposed to the new elemental forces now flooding Tallua —
the only human able to harmonize with all six elements and resist the corruption pouring through the gate.
This made him, and his family, the demon’s primary targets.
To protect both his bloodline and the realm of Tallua, Kormak waged a brutal war that raged for fourteen relentless, tormenting years.
In the final battle, Kormak and his childhood friend Privolt confronted the demon at the heart of the Astral breach, attempting to contain both the creature and the corruption it unleashed.
Kormak sacrificed his life to weaken the entity, allowing Privolt to bind it within an Astral Containment Chamber forged from Kormak’s own lifeforce —
a fragile prison suspended between worlds, held together by a single bound soul strengthened only by the living lifeforce of its descendants.
It is this bond that holds back the slow, steady leak of magic still seeping into Tallua.
Privolt survived the sealing, but only barely.
Unable to endure the Astral corruption or maintain Kormak’s bound lifeforce himself, he entrusted the ritual to Kormak’s descendants —
the only bloodline capable of withstanding the corruption and maintaining the seal,
the last barrier between Tallua and the realms beyond.
